Well here we go...

A typical evening for me ... alone with my dogs except I decided to slap on a mud mask elixir to shrink my pores. Although I really don't know if I am doing that, in fact it sort of burns my face.
So many things have occurred since I last wrote. So many that I don't really want to get into it all but my most exciting change is that I got a job when really right now is a very hard thing to do. There has been so many lay offs and businesses closing that I really lucked out with this one. I am working at a one of the local hospitals as an outpatient registrar. Ya know ... when you come in for blood tests or x-rays, well I check you in. It really is a great job and to be all honest there will always be sick people so ... there you have it. I have been there for about three weeks so far and am still digging it. I really feel that I have been blessed.
Anyway, my post isn't very exciting nor creative. I am just blurting out there ....
Speaking of creative I really need to get back on the band wagon with that. I have been such in a funk with doing anything. I have been taking some pictures of children and families but nothing "creative."
*sigh*
I have however started a website for my photography. It's still in the works but here is what I have so far. Please feel free to share suggestions or comments. I appreciate constructive criticism.
Signing off for now.

Laundry Day

I do about 2 to 3 loads of laundry every day. Not the most funnest thing but even more troublesome is living with a farmer ... I never know what I will find. Most laundresses run into this quandary with having little boys who like to play with frogs, worms, rocks, bugs, etc.... but with me I find tools, hay rack clips, change (lots of change), enough straw and hay stubble to choke a horse, and this

Notice anything? See anything out of place?

How about now?

Yes, those are soy beans. Apparently the bin dryer couldn't do all of the work so I had to do a few in my own dryer. (har-har)

I will find all kinds of soy beans and corn in my dryer from now until next May. I should start saving them all and then turn them in for a profit at the mill! Yeah that's the ticket!

Nah ... I would rather collect jewelry.

This hockey mom doesn't wear lipstick

And I have never considered myself a pit bull either. Well, maybe at times a very aggressive poodle....(for those of you who know me just agree and all will be well with the world)

Tis the season for Hockey! Boy Blue has been playing since he was 6 years old. Never had he skated but I swear as soon as his feet hit the ice he took off like a shot! (Unlike his father and I who imitate yearlings walking on fresh snot)

His position is Goalie which is fine and not so fine.

*he isn't out there getting checked and tossed all over the rink like a sack of feed.

*he gets some down time to focus in between shots on him.

*he seems react better with the action being right there and not all over the rink.

Not so hot things

*the equipment required for a hockey goalie is tres expensive. I mean the whole sport is expensive but goalie pads....OY! By chance we found the leg pads he has now from a seller on e-bay who was funding a missionary trip for $50.

*when I am sitting behind the goalie net and I see a swarm of burly teenage boys beaning for my son with the intention of chasing a little black puck but Boy Blue is in the way my heart starts to beat wildly and my face goes flush. (In fact this past Sunday I said out loud, "don't kill him!!")

But I will give him that he has stuck with it for 8 years and he loves it and he gets better and better each year. His goal, no pun intended, is to get a hockey scholarship and play for the school eventually being hired by the Detroit Red Wings (notice his helmet) and then retiring to buy a farm. (He has had this goal/dream since he was 8)

This is him with Numbah 7 playing defense. These middle aged boys and their defensive hormones .... I think they sometimes snort at each other while playing out there.

So far this season, which consists of three games, they are undefeated. Yeah! Pretty good start! More to follow as the season progresses. :)

Excuse my absense

Not that I have a ton of people reading my blog every dingle day, but I still have to excuse myself. Being a farmers wife, especially this time of year, is hectic and tiresome.
I am talking about harvest. You see when you harvest your crops there is a timing conflict with ...oh....life. Throw some weather changes in there and a couple of breakdowns of equipment and you have a whole casserole of craziness.

I do have some posts started but not completed. I have been having a heck of a time even concentrating in general. But I do have some interesting and fun stuff to say ... even if I am just posting it for my own harvest of thoughts and sanity. (Get it ... harvest of thoughts and sanity.....hello?......is this thing on? ... check 1, 2 ... check 1, 2....)

So sit tight ... hold on to your fishing hats and I will be back.
Toodles!

The Mac Daddy Farm Boy

This year Boy Blue decided that he wanted to be cool, but couldn't figure out which level of cool he wanted to be.
At first he wanted to be a pimp. But I wasn't too hip on the "title"or reputation that came with it. I could understand the wanting to feel street cool ... so onto more ideas.right? Street cool? Is that right? I don't know.....

Anyway we thought maybe a Hillbilly Gangsta, but that didn't fly. So instead
"Mac Daddy" was what we came up with.
Notice the highlights of his outfit. The purple Fedora hat, the gold cash symbol necklace and ring set, the Giant Diamond cane ...

The kid even went as far as spraying his hair black and popping in a grill. (that would be the faux gold teeth covers - Come on! Get With IT!)

But since most Mac Daddy people I know, which is ZERO, don't smile ... we went back to being serious.

Happy Halloween!

You can giggle if ya wanna ...

boobees!
I was sent this today and I laughed my fool head off for about 4.7 seconds and then came back to reality.
Apparently it's going around because my 2nd husband received it to .... or had it already ... I'm not sure.

Happy Birthday to Boy Blue!

My special little fella turns 13 today! I can't believe it .... an official teenager. Oy. But ya know I couldn't have gotten a better kid even if I tried.
Isn't he cute?
I love his sense of adventure!
He lets me dress him up in full face makeup !

He is a real Fisherman!
He loves to travel.
He loves his dog Gracie
and little Sampson to!
He is a great goalie

and at the end of the day I still wanna pinch his cheeks to wake him up so I can be entertained. Heh.

Happy Birthday Sugah!
